On the evening of November 1st, the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations hosted a NIAF Welcome Reception to celebrate NIAF’s official recognition as a non-governmental organization (NGO) with Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
NIAF is proud to be among the first Italian American organizations to receive this status. The NIAF Welcome Reception was held at the United Nations New York City Headquarters in its Sputnik Lounge and featured several notable guests.
In attendance were NIAF President Robert Allegrini, Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations in New York Ambassador Maurizio Massari, President of the Economic and Social Council and Permanent Representative of Chile to the United Nations, Ambassador Paula Narvaez, Representative of the United States of America to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and Alternate Representative of the United States to the Sessions of the General Assembly of the United Nations, Ambassador Lisa Carty, and NIAF Vice Chair National, Anita B. McBride.
