Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church kicked off the Feast of St. Anthony Wednesday in the Bronx. Games, rides and entertainment were centered along East 187 St. in Belmont. The feast is meant to honor St. Anthony, a priest who preached spreading love and sharing with the less fortunate.
"We always say this is the real Little Italy, the one in the Bronx. Even if the church is called the Lady of Mount Carmel, this has been a long tradition doing this festival,” says Father Jose Felix Ortega. The feast will take place through Sunday, June 17.
