A Staten Island district attorney candidate's decision to run on her Italian maiden name instead of her hyphenated married name has prompted accusations of ethnic pandering.

Republican District Attorney candidate Joan Illuzzi — who for years was known as Joan Illuzzi-Orbon — quietly filed papers earlier this month to appear on the ballot minus the Orbon, her husband's last name.
