Periods of heavy rain passing through Mount Morris on Saturday sent patrons of the Mount Morris Rotary Italian Festival scurrying for cover in Bellamy Park, but despite the rain many who attended were unwavered by the weather. Vendors found ways to cope and protect their wares. The entertainment – under the cover of a large tent – kept playing. And while some people did head for their cars, others took the mid-day shower in stride.
“Rain or shine, it’s a fun festival,” said Laura Hamilton. “There’s a lot of good vendors, great food and a lot for the kids.” Her own sons, Anthony and Jordan, were busy painting faces on the rocks at the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts booth. The entertainers found humor in the conditions.
