Members of the American Society of Italian Heritage (ASIH) enjoyed Chinese and Japanese cuisine at a "Cooks Day Off" luncheon at the Super Panda in Mandeville on July 12. 'Ciao' and 'Chow' were the buzzwords at the spirited gathering.
The luncheon was among the events scheduled throughout the year by ASIH, such as the Festa di San Guiseppe, or the Feast of St. Joseph dinner, a crawfish boil, cochon-de-lait, Italian movie nights, and the Rising Star Award presented to an outstanding officer who has served three years or less in the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Department. This year the award dinner will be held at Vintage Court on Oct. 11.
