The City of Doral celebrated the co-designation NW 34th Street between NW 79th Avenue and NW 77th Court on Jan. 15 as, “Stephen Musolino Way.” Public officials and members of the public gathered for the ceremony at 3435 NW 79th Avenue in Doral.
Stephen Musolino is credited for leading the development of the Tile District on NW 79th Avenue, now known as the Doral Décor District. He was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy, and in 1974 he moved to Miami to start a business. Shortly after he became known as the pioneer in the Italian ceramic tile industry with his products shipping directly to distributors from Italy and other countries.
