The recent earthquake that devastated Italy resounds in the hearts of Italian Americans and restaurant fans in Louisville. Local restaurateurs are responding with a fundraising campaign. Eat until September 17th at Vincenzo's, Porcini, Equus, Corbett's Restaurant - An American Place, Adrienne & Co. Bakery & Cafe, Roux, Caffe Classico or Silvio's and a portion of proceeds from specific menu items will benefit the Italian Red Cross.
Look for posters in these eateries bearing the logo "Amici di Amatrice," reflecting love for Amatrice. That is the medieval town destroyed by the quake originating in the Apennines mountain range, and "one of the great culinary regions of the world," said fundraising organizer, Bernardo Carducci, president of the Italian American Association of Louisville.
