The children of Al Noto Sr. just thought they were helping their parents. Never did they imagine that, 40 years later, they would be the ones carrying on a tradition. Now, Noto's children and grandchildren are preparing for Friday's 40th anniversary of the Feast of St. Joseph, a traditional Italian luncheon, started by Noto and others.
Noto made a "deal" with St. Joseph, the patron saint of workers, that if St. Joseph helped him out, he would serve him. It worked out — but Noto never told anyone what help he needed.
