The Greater Baton Rouge American Italian Association is very excited to announce that it is going to have the Columbus Day Festa again this year. The Festa will be held inside the air-conditioned Atrium of the Belle of Baton Rouge.

A limited number of Italian American Maid positions are available to daughters, granddaughters, and friends of A.I.A. Members, Italian American Marchers, and Grandsons of Italy.

Maids will be escorted and presented on stage by their fathers, grandfathers, brothers, etc. during the Festa. Escorts can present more than one maid. Maid positions are available to girls 3 -21 years of age.

All maids will wear long solid white dresses, white shoes, and long or short white gloves. Escorts will wear coat and tie. Now is the time to look for white long dresses, with prom season over, they are on sale. Maids can wear the same white dresses as last year if they wish to do so. IF YOU HAVE A WHITE DRESS TO SELL OR LEND, PLEASE ADVISE LEAH ARRIGO. THIS INFO WILL BE PASSED ON TO OTHER PARENTS. PLEASE INCLUDE THE DRESS SIZE.

All maids will be provided with Italian colored sashes along with a nosegay of red, white, and green flowers with small American and Italian flags, and a tee-shirt.

A nominal fee of $25.00 per maid is needed to offset the cost of sashes, flags, flowers, tee-shirt, and other expenses. This fee is due by August 31, 2013.

We will have rehearsal and Media Day (Pictures) tentatively schedule for Sunday October 6, 2013 at 2:00.
