Currently there is a great re-awakening of pride in Italian heritage in Arkansas: and we believe the Arkansas Italian food and culture festival on April 20th and 21st is playing a major role in this reality. This festival will serve as a great way for people of Italian heritage to celebrate the unique, distinct, history of Italy and Arkansas and a collective pride that runs very deep.
Join us April 20, 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm, and April 21, 8:00 am – 9:00 pm, at beautiful North Shore Riverwalk Park in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Tickets are $5 dollars at the gate (Willow Street entrance) AND kids five and under are free! It also will introduce many to not only great Italian cuisine but also hopefully show the unique traits and family oriented nature of most Italian-Americans and the importance of family. The fact that the festival is going to benefit the Boys and Girls clubs of Central Arkansas is a natural fit.
On, April 19th, as part of the festival at the Clinton Presidential Library, documentary filmaker Matteo Zengaro will screen "I Sopravvissuti" about the Italian-American immigrant experience in Arkansas, Mississippi and the Delta in the American south.
The festival was created by Patrick Presley and Justin Acri, who could not be more honored or thrilled by the response not only here in Little Rock, but across the entire state and the region itself.
A very nice outgrowth of the Italian food and culture festival, is the re-emergence of the social club "Circolo Italiano" which promotes the Italian language, history, film, the arts, food, wine, and all things related to Italy. We hope this can actually lead to closer ties between Arkansas and Italy and hope that many in Italy know the importance of those of us here in the states with Italian heritage and how powerful that is to us and why its imprtant for us to keep that link between us alive and well.
We encourage all who can to visit - April 20 - 21, 2018 and after viewing the main page just click here http://www.aritalianfestival.com/ for more information, we'd be honored to have all who can make it and be part of keeping the heritage and culture alive. Please feel free to contact me at patrickpresley@sbcglobal.net or 501-580-3434 for all festival informaiton. Viva L'Italia!
