The chief administrative officer for Pulaski County has rejected Little Italy's incorporation request.
Television station KATV reported Friday (http://bit.ly/20ZT5Ue ) that County Judge Barry Hyde found the proposed area is too large, lacks the "necessary unity of a single place" and had an inadequate budget.

Little Italy is an unincorporated area in far northwestern Pulaski County, with about 350 people.
Proponents had said incorporation would help preserve the region's history and improve government services in the area. They proposed a budget of more than $120,000, with $31,000 of that coming from the county road tax and the state gas tax.
