The venerable and distinguished University of Arkansas Schola Cantorum kicks off its 2014-15 concert season with music from Glorious Venice. The Schola Cantorum will be joined on stage by brass choirs, harpsichord, and baroque orchestra as they present four unique settings of the Gloria from the golden age of Venetian music.

The 16-voice, four-choir, Gloria by Andrea Gabrieli (1532-1585) is a spectacle of acappella singing, while the 12-voice, three-choir, Gloria by his nephew Giovannia Gabrieli (1554-1612) blares with three brass choirs accompanying.
