The Houston Methodist Research Institute has agreed to support the Italian Telethon initiative sending a message of hope and commitment to research from the president and CEO, Prof. Mauro Ferrari and of his team of 30 plus Italians.
Telethon has been for many years at the forefront of volunteering, fundraising, and charity to find a cure to thousands of currently untreatable genetic diseases.

The mission of Telethon relies on the participation and endorsement of a number of internationally renowned scientists. This year Prof. Ferrari has decided to show his support by involving the community of Italian scientists, students and trainees en force in the department of Nanomedicine of the Houston Methodist Research Institute.

The mission of the department is to design, engineer and synthesis of new nanotechnology based platforms for the early diagnosis of diseases, the targeted delivery of therapeutics and the regeneration of failing tissues and organs. The message of the Italian Scientist from Houston is one of hope, encouragement, passion and enthusiasm. It is also the reflection of the individual stories of a diverse group of scientists.

They came from all parts of Italy, with very different backgrounds and life experiences but they found the way to work together in perfect synergy. In their choral message, they express pride for being Italians and remind to everybody the important role of research in the fight against untreatable diseases.
