The Maserati Ghibli is the Italian automaker's attempt at being less esoteric and a bit more mainstream. The brand's sultry good looks are still there, thank goodness. But the entry price is a slightly more digestible $66,900 - or tens of thousands less than the next Maserati in the family tree.
That's still some serious cash, of course. And it remains to be seen whether someone considering a BMW 5-Series or Mercedes-Benz E-Class is really going to cross-shop the Ghibli. They might, based on the exterior design. The big question mark, however, is whether or not Maserati can offer a sedan with the quality and everyday usability of its rivals.
