Italian designers are no strangers to New York City, with many famous Italian designers having lived and worked in New York. Many of them have shaped New York – as much as the city has shaped them – through their work and influence as thought-leaders and trend-setters.
In recent years we have witnessed a dizzying growth of the world of design, and whereas graphic design used to mean printed materials, it is now expanding and diversifying in New York City into fields at the crossroads of technology, industry and collaborative platforms.
Four young Italian designers, who have recently relocated to New York, will present their work and illustrate their creative process and methodology. A Q&A moderated by Allan Chochinov, Chair of the Products of Design MFA at School of Visual Arts, New York, will shed light on the professional aspects that have changed over the past ten years and on the way in which the Italian cultural heritage and identity of the presenters impacted their work.
