While Louis Vuitton set out for Kyoto and Christian Dior to Los Angeles, Pierpaolo Piccioli opted to present his 2018 Cruise collection for Valentino in New York City, marking the second time the Italian brand has descended upon the Big Apple to stage a pre-season show. As noted by Vogue, "On the runway, Piccioli picked up a sporty thread inspired by the NYC streets, showing tracksuits, zip-ups, and sleek, cut-out dresses."
The brand itself, noted: Piccioli "celebrates the elegance of sport and metropolitan concreteness of the Resort Collection with an explosion of floral patterns, pleated skirts and bright technical fabrics." Several looks were "inspired by the perfect combination of sport and ethnic influences, hip hop culture and the Maison heritage."
