Erie's Italian American community named their 2013 Man of the Year. Ralph Pontillo, President and CEO of the Manufacturer and Business Association was honored by the Giuseppe Mazzini Civic Association at its 40th annual Columbus Day Dinner.
Pontillo, a Gannon grad, Air Force veteran and passionate supporter of the free enterprise system, has grown the MBA to more than 4,400 members. It's the largest regional manufacturers association in the nation.
Pontillo told us, the honor means something. "You can come to this country from anywhere in the world and accomplish something," said Pontillo. "It's a country where you can be free to live life, raise your family and we've been blessed with a beautiful large family."
