The DaVinci Society commemorated Italian Heritage Month Wednesday at its 15th annual Scholarship Dinner in Nicotra’s Ballroom at the Hilton Garden Inn, where a record-breaking crowd of 600 gathered to support the organization. The mega event translates into a major fundraiser for scholarships presented to worthy Staten Island Italian-American students attending Wagner College on Grymes Hill.
The showcase for Italian culture and it’s rich, deep-rooted heritage was chaired by newly installed chairman Robert Scamardella, former Republican party chair and managing partner in the West Brighton law firm of Scamardella, Gervasi, Thomson & Kasegrande. The DaVinci Society was formed during the spring of 2000 and made possible through the generous support of its Executive Committee and other friends and alumni of the college.
