The foods of Abruzzo are relatively unknown to the rest of the world but no less intriguing than some of Italy's best-known ingredients. Located in central Italy, Abruzzo sits on the Adriatic Sea, east of Lazio, south of Le Marche, and north of Puglia.
Its rugged inland terrain is thanks to the Apennine Mountains, and the entire landscape is a trove for food lovers. Here are seven of the mist quintessential foods from Abruzzo.
