Mediterranean Cypress
One type of tree native to Italy is the Mediterranean cypress, a tall, narrow, and fast-growing species. Also known as Cupressus sempervirens, the Mediterranean cypress is of the conifer family Cupressaceae. The Mediterranean cypress grows to around 50 feet in height and 3 feet in width and has an average lifespan of 100 years, with a few trees known to live for over 1,000 years.
