Salvatore J. Bovoso, former owner of Dottie's True Blue Cafe in San Francisco, an actor and co-author of a technology column, died in his sleep Aug. 25 at his home in Southern California. He was 71. Mr. Bovoso had a number of acts, from graphic artist to stand-up comic to restaurateur and writer.
"If you're not sure you ever met Sal Bovoso, you probably didn't," said Stefen Reilly, Mr. Bovoso's partner of 31 years. "All that was needed for you to like him was to meet him." He was born in Philadelphia into a large Italian American family.
