American Airlines Launches Direct Flights To The Food Capital Of Italy

If you’ve already visited the iconic but overtouristed cities of Florence, Rome and Venice, and are looking for a less crowded slice of Italy that is also less expensive and more authentic, head to the Emilia Romagna region. This area of Northern Italy is packed with art, architecture, culture and green space—and even most Italians admit, the region offers some of the finest foods in all of Italy.

And your timing is perfect: This June, American Airlines (AA) will be launching direct flights from North America to Bologna, the region’s capital city. (Connecting flights to Bologna already depart from many European cities.) The seasonal flights will run between Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Bologna’s Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ) four times a week from June 6 to September 29, 2019. AA will be operating Boeing 767 aircraft with lie-flat seats in business class.
