
Anthony Del Zoppo, 88, of Concord, a veteran and respected local businessman who was devoted to his family, died Friday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze. Mr. Del Zoppo was born in Manhattan. He moved to West Brighton with his family when he was 13 years old. He also lived in New Dorp before settling in Concord 57 years ago.
A graduate of Curtis High School, he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1945 and served as a private first class, stationed in Germany and France. After his discharge in 1947, he started his own produce business.
