The Asolo Fortress rises on Mount Ricco, which overlooks the center of Asolo, in the province of Treviso: it is an imposing structure with walls as thick as four meters and as tall as fifteen, built between the mid-12th century and the early 13th. This solitary place seems untouched by time, and offers a unique 360° view that spans from the Alps to the Po Valley, and on clear days even reaches Venice’s Lagoon.
At first sight, you might immediately notice the absence of loopholes in its walls. Indeed, the Fortress could only be accessed through a large door, which in the past was connected to the Lower Castle.
