Nato nel New Jersey, a poco più di un miglio di distanza da Frank Sinatra, Robert Santelli è un giornalista, storico del rock & blues e insieme un autore di numerosi testi incentrati sulla storia della musica americana - The Big Book Of Blues, The Bob Dylan Scrapbook e Greetings From E Street: The Story Of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, per citarne alcuni.
Nel 1993 è stato responsabile del programma educativo del Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum di Cleveland e nel 2000 direttore artistico e CEO del primo museo multimediale della musica - The Experience Music Project di Seattle.
