The presence of Italian-Americans in major motion picture roles has stirred controversy since day one. As Hollywood is struggling with diversity, women and black people are making a few strides, but, as actor Bobby Cannavale tells The Hollywood Reporter, Italian-Americans are getting left behind.

"I'm always getting the ethnic roles of some kind, like a mob guy or an Italian pizza guy or some shit like that. I never get, like, doctors," Cannavale said in a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter.
