The Clark chapter of UNICO, an active Italian-American service organization, held its annual kick-off dinner and reorganization meeting on Jan. 25. New members are sworn-in at this annual ceremony. Upcoming events and the organization's annual calendar was set. The group reviewed the previous year's Italian-American Feast, its four-day carnival held each year over Columbus Day weekend, and began planning for the 2017 event.
The group welcomed guest speaker Dr. Frank DeFrank, who serves as UNICO National 2nd vice-president. DeFrank spoke briefly on the importance of service organizations such as UNICO, one of only a handful of these types left.
