Two major Houston Italian eateries — sweet and savory — have teamed up for a very special, very edible collab: a limited edition gelato flavor. Dolce Neve, the newish Heights gelato shop(and Austin import) on N. Main, and Chef Ryan Pera of Coltivare, the wood-fired pizzeria on White Oak Drive, have created a gelato flavor that is fruity and sweet — with a surprising kick.
The flavor brings together Mexican Marigold (plucked from Coltivare’s garden), Texas blackberries, Maurin Quina liqueur and Tellicherry peppercorns. The flavor will only be available for the month of June, but will be available both in the N. Main gelato shop and on the dessert menu of Coltivare.
