The Columbus Parade Association of Union County has expanded its Italian-American Heritage & Culture Week to the entire month of October. A key event occurs on Sunday, Oct. 2, when the group holds its 28th annual anniversary celebration titled "Columbus Oldies but Goodies" from 1 to 6 p.m. at III Amici Ristorante, 1700 W. Elizabeth Ave. in Linden.

"This multicultural celebration will include tributes to Columbus along with special acknowledgements" to the canonization of Mother Teresa's and former New York Met Mike Piazza's induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame, said Mike Guarino, founder of the group.
