Lauren Mascitti of Louisville will perform for the Ohio Valley Opry at 6 p.m. April 21 at the Twin City Opera House in McConnelsville. The rising Nashville performer is a singer/songwriter who plays guitar, piano and mandolin. She began singing and writing jingles on her toy tape recorder at the age of 7.
Mascitti was raised by her grandparents and she said they instilled a love of classic country in her for the likes of Waylon Jennings and the Statler Brothers among others. After earning a degree as a registered nurse, Mascitti decided to pursue her dream in Nashville. She’s worked with the likes of Larry Gatlin, Pam Tillis, Shawn Camp, Mo Pitney and others. She’s recorded nine albums, with the latest being “It’s Never Just a Song.”
