The second half of Casa Italia's summer camp will feature several cultural presentations that are free and open to the public. Main Street Opera will present "Rita" by Gaetano Donizetti at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13.
In this domestic comedy, Rita, believing her tyrannical first husband, Gasparo, to be drowned at sea, marries the meek Beppe, abusing him as she was abused. In reality, Gasparo had left for Canada, believing his wife to have died in a fire, triggering comic turmoil when he returns for her death certificate, having met a new love overseas.
