Daniele Struppa, attuale Chancellor della Chapman University presso la quale è stato chiamato nel 2006, è stato nominato dal Board of Trustees dell'Università "Presidente designato" e successore dell'attuale Presidente Jim Doti, Ph.D, quando questi andrà in pensione. A darne notizia è il Consolato generale d'Italia a Los Angeles.
Laureatosi in matematica all'Università di Milano e conseguito il Ph.D all'Università del Maryland College Park, Struppa ha insegnato all'Università di Milano, alla Scuola Normale di Pisa, all'Università della Calabria e alla George Mason University.
