Desert Arc's Italian Fest draws thousands to La Quinta

The aroma of fresh pasta sauce wafted through the crowd at La Quinta Civic Center Park Saturday during the opening day of Desert Arc's fourth annual Italian Festival.
The two-day festival, which features plenty of Italian fare catered by local eateries — including myriad pasta dishes, meatball and sausage sandwiches and, of course, cannolis — continues 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
