There is no foreign cinema as likely to make you hungry as Italian cinema. Whether sensual (La Dolce Vita), whimsical (Life is Beautiful) or gloriously dubbed (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly), the very sound of the language will only serve to remind you, as you sit in that darkened theater, how very hungry you are. This is not a sensation you are likely to have watching, say, an Ingmar Bergman or Lars von Trier film. They don't call them spaghetti Westerns for nothing.

The first weekend in June, Guadalupe Street will be overrun by Italian cinemaphiles from all over the world as CineFesta Italia (Italian Cinema Fest) opens for its inaugural year as Santa Fe's most delicious new film festival, which will feature copious amounts of food.
