They may not seem exciting to the average Italian consumer, but the Easter dove (“Colomba”) cakes launched by Fossano-based firm Maina (located in the province of Cuneo) have managed to find success in the US market—unlike previous attempts to bring the Italian Easter dessert across the Atlantic.
Maina’s CEO, Marco Brandani, explained that they needed to develop specially-made products with different recipes and shapes, in order to conquer the American and British markets.
