A funeral will take place Monday for former Parsippany Councilman Vincenzo "Vinnie" Ferrara, who died Tuesday. He was 59. Ferrara was born in Caposele, Italy, and came to the United States in 1972, settling in Newark. He lived in South Orange before moving in 1996 to Parsippany, where he served on the Township Council from 2011 to 2013, when he lost a bid for reelection in the primary. He also served on the Planning Board.
"I sat with Vinnie on the council. I ran against him a couple of times. He was dedicated, he worked very hard and he was sincere," said the longest-serving Parsippany councilman, Michael dePierro. "He passed way before his time, and he will be missed."
