Not everyone can spontaneously buy a plane ticket to Italy, but you can get Italy (in a box) delivered to your front door with a click of a button. Whidbey Island-based Ciao Food & Wine now has an online marketplace and curated boxes available — giving a taste of Italy and all it has to offer.
In Italy, Ciao owner and chef Mark Laska once studied under Enzo Coccia, founder of the slow food movement. He developed a love of the food and culture and brought it back to Washington. The online marketplace offers artisan products from family-owned Italian purveyors that Laska has personally used in Italy and his restaurant.
