Never in history had Italian sport won so much at Olympic, world and continental levels. Finding oneself once again on the podium of the most successful countries after a 2021 to be framed, with the 40 medals won at the Tokyo Olympic Games, was by no means a foregone conclusion, but the tricolour successes went even beyond expectations.
The well-deserved celebration of Italian sports was celebrated yesterday at CONI, the venue for the Collari d'Oro award ceremony. On stage were CONI President Giovanni Malagò, Italian Paralympic Committee President Luca Pancalli and Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi, who presented the highest honor of Italian sport to the honorees.
At the opening, CONI President Giovanni Malagò celebrated the successes of a 2022 opened by the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, an edition full of satisfaction for Italy with 17 medals, the second best result in history after Lillehammer 1994 when the Italian expedition won 20 podiums.
