Jefferson County is home to a popular attraction off Interstate 70. It's made of rock, thousands flock to it each year, it offers beautiful views over Denver and has been booked every weekend this year. But it's not Red Rocks Amphitheatre — it's the stone house at Mother Cabrini Shrine. "I think, for a long time, Mother Cabrini Shrine was a well-kept secret, and we've worked really hard to get the word out and let people know we're here," said JoAnn Seaman, development director for Mother Cabrini Shrine for 25 years.

Seaman said that in addition to fully booked weekends for retreats at the 100-year-old stone house, the shrine — which includes the stone house, gardens, chapel, spring, convent for the sisters of the Missionary of the Sacred Heart, and of course, the shrine itself — has seen increased attendance by Spanish-speaking visitors and others seeking history along the Lariat Loop, worship or simply a quiet retreat.
