As Italy approaches one month under lockdown, we’ve seen Italians come together to boost morale through art, food, music – and more than a few memes. Italians are masters at improvisation and armed with technology, a resilient spirit and a keen sense of irony, they have managed to broadcast their charm and talents online to provide welcome relief during these trying times.
The center of the crisis in Europe, northern Italy has been hit especially hard by the coronavirus in cities including Bergamo, Brescia and Milano, but weeks of social distancing are helping to flatten the curve while expressions of solidarity are keeping us hopeful as we make our way through this long, dark tunnel.
