The Cineteca of Bologna is one of the world’s most renowned film restoration centers, home of the Charlie Chaplin and Pier Paolo Pasolini archives. Each summer, it hosts Il Cinema Ritrovato, an acclaimed film festival featuring restored masterpieces and early silent cinema that has been described as “pure heaven for cinéphiles.”
Thanks to an ongoing collaboration with the Cineteca, the Italian Studies Department at Brown University can share a selection of these wonderful films with the Providence community each year. The seventh edition of "Il Cinema Ritrovato on Tour" (Rediscovered Cinema on Tour) will take place from March 11-14, 2020 at the Granoff Center for the Creative Arts, Brown University. Curated by the Department of Italian Studies and the Cineteca di Bologna
