Isabella Rossellini: Italian of the Week

Isabella Fiorella Elettra Giovanna Rossellini was born on June 18, 1952 in Rome, Italy. Her mother was famed actress Ingrid Bergman, and her father was award-winning director Roberto Rossellini. Isabella grew up in Italy and Paris before moving to New York City when she was 19. She quickly became a model and actress. Most notably, she became the face of LancĂ´me while working for famous photographers Annie Leibovitz, Bruce Weber and Eve Arnold.

Isabella-Rossellini-01She also gained critical acclaim for her performances in the films Blue Velvet, Death Becomes Her, Wyatt Earp, Big Night and Joy. Isabella also worked on a number of television series including Chicago Hope, Alias, 30 Rock and The Blacklist. Today, she continues to act and model while spending time raising money for various conservation and philanthropic organizations.
