Last month the Italian American Club held a special installation-of-officers dinner and ceremony at its clubhouse on Buckshollow Road to induct its new and re-elected leaders. The officers and board members for 2017 include: Giulio Cefaloni (president); Guido Boniello (vice president); Lucy DeFeo (treasurer); Joseph Correti (financial secretary); Linda Cefaloni (corresponding secretary); Bonnie Palmiero (recording secretary); Nick Scafidi (social media secretary); Peter Pensabene, Rocco Pennella, and Domenico Bauco (board members); Frank Lombardi (IAC Counsel); Judge James Reitz (IAC advocate); and Alfonso Santaniello (sergeant-at-arms). Remaining board members Luigi Cefaloni, Frank Giordano, Artie DeFeo and Frank Salubro continue in their roles as they were not up for re-election in 2017.

All the new officers and board members were sworn in by Judge Reitz. Joining the ceremonies were state Sen. Terrence Murphy, state Assemblyman Kevin Byrne, County Executive Mary Ellen Odell; Putnam County Youth Court Leader Barbara Reitz, Undersheriff Paul Boscia, County Legislator Joseph Castellano, County Election Commissioner Anthony Scannapieco, Community Cares Board member John Sayegh, Town Supervisor Ken Schmitt, Deputy Supervisor Frank Lombardi, Councilman John Lupinacci, and Highway Superintendent Mike Simone. The ceremony was followed with an Italian dinner and an evening of music and dancing.
