Rain did not spoil the fun on Sunday, Oct. 10 as people of all ages watched the 2021 Nutley-Belleville Columbus Day and Italian Heritage Month parade pass through both towns on the Franklin Avenue route. The Nutley Board of Commissioners presented resolutions for the 2021 parade honorees during the Sept. 21 public meeting.
Due to the parade’s honoree dinner held at Nanina’s in the Park in Belleville on the same night, they were unable to attend the public meeting. This year’s grand marshal is Anthony J. Pope. Honorees include Joseph S. Zarra –Lifetime Achievement Award; Vincent C. Scoca — Italian Heritage Award; Anthony Biondi Jr. — 2021 Italian Business Leader; and Mary Ellen Clyne —Community Excellence Award.
