The Italian-American Police Association will sponsor two scholarships for prospective college students. The Erie County Deputy Sheriff Robert S. Insalaco Financial Scholarship Award and the Buffalo Police Patrolman David J. Scime Financial Scholarship Award are given in memory of two deceased members of the association who were killed in the line of duty — Insalaco on Aug. 13, 1987, and Scime on Sept. 5, 1974.
These scholarship awards are made available to any senior at any high school in Erie or Niagara county who meets established guidelines. Any interested high school senior may visit www.iapawny.org to learn more about the scholarship opportunities and obtain an application. Scholarship applications must be received by the Italian-American Police Association scholarship committee by Tuesday, May 1. For more information, call Samuel Amato at 903-2123 or email sfamato1@verizon.net.
