The Italian Festival at St. Mary of Mount Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish on Sunday was a chance for old friends and new to enjoy a little taste of Italian heritage. Rose Leone Mittia, who has attended the festival her whole life, has many favorite reasons to keep coming back. "The good food, and the music, and the good friends," Mittia said.
She grew up as a member of the parish, and the festival has always been a family affair. She's one of 11 children who all attended the church, along with her parents and grandparents who were married there. On Sunday she was with her brother and a few of her sisters, who all worked throughout the week doing things like making meatballs and sauce.
