Are you ready for a picturesque and unique natural scenery, where the world's largest frying pan will fry fish for visitors and vacationers in the more typical feast of Liguria?

The Fish Festival in Camogli, one of the most anticipated and loved Italian culinary events, is held on the second Sunday of May, the day of San Fortunato, the patron saint of fishermen. People wait with enthusiasm for this feast, which has been held for more than half a century.

On Sunday, after the blessing of the fish and of the pan, about three tons of blue fish are fried in a frying steel pan straight from the Guinness Book of World Records, 3.80 meters in diameter and weighing twenty-six hundreds kilos, a real folkloristic attraction, in which about 30,000 portions are cooked to be distributed free of charge to the guests of the festival.

The pan that is used today is the fourth in the series and in special folk occasions is transported even in other regions of Italy.

In addition to this greedy practice, on the evening of Saturday there is a procession in honor of San Fortunato, with the Ark of the Holy and the Cristi of the Genoese brotherhoods accompanied by the town band.

The procession ends with a fireworks display over the sea and the suggestive lightning of two great bonfires on the beach, representative of the two districts of Camogli: Porto and Pinetto.

Entertainment and music stand with typical Ligurian products and crafts markets are held in the streets of the town during the entire weekend of celebration.

It is a beautiful opportunity to delight with the flavors of Liguria and the beautiful landscape of Camogli.
