The Tyrolean Trentino Club of Norway, MI donated almost $1,200 to the Jake Meneghini Museum. The Trentino Club was an Italian heritage club dedicated to preserving the memories and culture of the early immigrant Italians in Dickinson County. The club dissolved following a decline in membership and donated the remaining funds and cultural artifacts to the museum.
Norway Trentino Club Vice President Mary Zanoni says she hopes the donations can help Norway residents connect to the town’s past. “It’s a history of our area as much as history of family and because we are so family and Pisani oriented, it’s important for the young people to realize where they came from,” Zanoni said. Visitors can view some of the donations after the museum opens on Wednesday, June 5.
