All four of Nick Cappelli Jr.’s grandparents are immigrants. Nick’s father, Nicholas Emidio Cappelli Senior’s parents are from the Marche region while his mom Dolores’s family is from Avellino and immigrated here circa 1905. Like so many other Italian immigrants of that time, Nick Seniors dad (Nick’s grandfather Emidio Cappelli), found housing with fellow Italians, this one in West Philadelphia.

As Emidio settled into his new life with the family hosting him, he refined his farming skills and eventually saved enough money to buy a farm. It was not to last however, as during the Great Depression further tragedy struck. He sold produce from the Penn Valley farm he owned and served all over the Main Line area until a fire broke out and destroyed his property.
