Italy continues to be one of the top players in the global meeting industry. According to the 2024 ranking by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Italy hosted 635 international congresses last year—an increase of 82 compared to 2023—making it the fastest-growing among major European competitors.
With these results, Italy secures the second spot worldwide, just behind the United States, which leads the ranking with 709 congresses. The ICCA ranking is the primary global benchmark for the conference tourism sector.
